The white-sandy beaches of Okaloosa County are known to be clean and pristine but beach safety, can rapidly become a matter of life or death!

It's important to understand the beach warning flags and to heed those warnings.

Rip currents aren't always obvious and can quickly become dangerous, even to experienced swimmers. Remember to swim left or right to escape the current. More on beach safety http://www.myokaloosa.com/ps/beach-safety

Additionally, precautions are still need to continue slowing the spread of COVID-19. Keep groups of 10 or less spaced out 6 ft. or more to maintain social distancing. The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings to protect others. Children under 2 should not wear masks and they should never be worn in the water. cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html
